Last month I completed the rough draft of my very first play. Very rough, yet complete. It was an accomplishment that required me to lock myself in a hotel room while a science fiction convention rage outside the door. I'm proud of it.
The play is about knights. That's pretty much all I'll say about it right now. I'll tell you that it's not some deep commentary on the futility of life in modern society. It's not a spiritual journey through the soul of a playwrite. It's a (hopefully) funny play about knights. You'll be able to see it at the Tin Ceiling later this year.
Anywho, this play started out as a much shorter play and a few weeks ago, I polished up the shorter version and submitted it to a festival called Short and Sweet - Singapore. Well, it looks like my play will be staged sometime next month. It wasn't chosen as one of the top 20 submissions (those plays will be performed multiple times), but it looks like it might have made the list of wildcards. Nothing is official yet, but it's already been assigned a director, so I think it's safe to assume something is happening.
So yeah, Singapore. If I had a week of vacation I'd fly out to see it.
